Club Newsletter - Post David Word Memorial Updates

Well, better late than never, the David Word Memorial event was a success in the end. Probably would have been a bit bigger if not for the weather delay, but things worked out well regardless.

Rudder dipping, STOL drag, and touch and go contests, plus food and fellowship. Pictures are here for anyone who missed the post on Slack: https://stonemountainrcflyers.smugmug.com/SMRCF-2022/SMRCF-David-Word-Memorial-Fun-Fly-792022/

Three items of business:

1. We need to have a work day the morning of July 30th. Since the weather this year is trending hot, we'll start early, around 7 AM to avoid the heat. There is no club requirement to attend, but if you're a regular flyer, then please consider chipping in. We'll address the ragged shades, the south end high net, the weeds on the runway, and some of the overgrowth on the road, plus if possible, we'll see about hauling some of our extra gravel into the potholes. If you have any helpful tools or equipment, bring it. (If it's very large, let me know, and I can tell you whether it would be useful.) Also, if you've noticed anything else that needs addressing, please let me know.

2. George is unable to account for some missing weed killer in the storage container. I assume it was used, but we're not sure when or how. To avoid redoing something, if you've done any weed killing in the last 12 months, could you contact me?

3. Your board is considering options on the runway. More information on that to follow by the end of the month.

That's all for now, see you at the field. (Especially Saturday morning on the 30th!)
